Donation & Refund Policy

Thank you for considering a donation to March of Lights. Your generosity directly supports education, career development, health promotion, and cultural engagement for underserved communities.

1. Use of Donations 

All donations are used to support our charitable mission and operating costs. Unless you have specified a particular program (such as EduAid), funds are allocated to areas of greatest need at the discretion of our team.

2. Payment Processing 

Donations are processed through trusted third-party payment platforms. We do not store complete payment card or bank account details. All transactions are encrypted by the payment processor.

3. Tax Deductibility [Important — please update with your actual status.] 

If March of Lights is registered as a tax-exempt organization in your country (for example, in Bangladesh under the relevant authority, or in the USA through a fiscal sponsor or 501(c)(3) status), donations may be eligible for tax benefits. Please consult your tax advisor and check our official registration status before claiming deductions. We will issue donation receipts upon request.

4. Recurring Donations 

If you set up a recurring donation, it will continue at the chosen frequency until you cancel. You can cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us at marchoflights@gmail.com or ami.alormichil24@gmail.com.

5. Refunds 

Donations are generally non-refundable, as funds are committed to programs quickly after receipt. However, we understand that mistakes happen. We will consider refund requests in the following cases:

• The donation was made in error (e.g., wrong amount, duplicate transaction).
• The donation was made fraudulently or without the donor's authorization.
• A recurring donation was not cancelled in time despite reasonable effort.

To request a refund, please contact us within 15 days of the transaction with your name, donation date, amount, and reason. Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method and may take 7–14 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card provider.

6. Currency 

Donations may be accepted in multiple currencies depending on the payment platform. Exchange rates and any transaction fees are determined by the payment processor.

7. Donor Privacy 

Donor information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent donor data, and we recognize donors publicly only with their explicit consent.
